Dog-friendly New Forest
The New Forest is a national park of ancient woodland and open heath where ponies, cattle and donkeys roam free, and pubs and cottages sit right on the forest edge.
Dogs love it, but the forest has its own rules: don't let dogs approach or chase the ponies and cattle, and keep them on the main tracks during the ground-nesting bird season in spring and early summer.
